Live Online Udon Master Class
Program

UDON HOUSE, a lodging facility where you can't stay unless you make udon noodles, is now offering an online program of local food culture.
Since we opened in October 2018, we have hosted international guests from over 20 countries. For those of you who are unable to visit Kagawa due to the effects of Corona, we have decided to deliver part of the experience online.
Kagawa Prefecture is called "Udon Prefecture" because the cuKagawa Prefecture is called "Udon Prefecture" because the culture of udon has been rooted in the prefecture since ancient times.lture of udon has been rooted in the prefecture since ancient times.
Rice is the staple food in Japan, but here in Kagawa Prefecture, some people eat "udon" every day.
The people of Kagawa consume seven times as much udon as the average Japanese.

Why did udon take root in this land?

UDON HOUSE usually runs a six-hour program where students make udon noodles from flour and learn a lot about the culture and history of the udon making process.
While the dough is being laid down, we go to the farm to harvest vegetables for the tempura ingredients and learn about udon soup stock.
